The Beatitudes outline Christ’s prescription for joy and blessing both in this life and in the life to come. Our lack of joy is a result of sin, but a careful study of the Beatitudes reveals a roadmap for the journey to freedom from the sins that make us so miserable. The purpose of Renewing the Heart is to encourage women to study the Word of God so we can discover the freedom from sin that can be obtained through the work of Christ.
While researching for chapter 3 of my first book, Woman to Woman, I found how effective the principles from the Beatitudes have proven in leading men and women out of addictions. (The 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous are based on these principles.) And then as I talked to women across the country about ministry to women, I found that more is needed to help women find freedom. Even though this is the second book in the series, if you have not done either, I would suggest you start with Renewing the Heart.
Renewing the Heart can be done alone for personal renewal, but you will find it much richer if you discuss it with other women. The Spirit will reveal different aspects of truth to each woman and the gain you realize will multiply within community. Remember James 5:16, “Confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, so that you may be healed.” This clearly teaches us our healing somehow comes through community.
My goal is to get you thinking and interacting with others in your community over the words of scripture. I am happy to hear that you disagree with some of my thoughts and ideas. It tells me you are thinking for yourself. I purposely form my questions to allow for differing viewpoints.

Perhaps the most profound instructions for women’s ministry are found in just three verses in the second chapter of Paul’s letter to Titus. Barbara Henry has crafted a masterful study that captures the essence of these three verses and will inspire women of all ages to effectively minister to others.
Formatted as a Bible study workbook, this twelve week guide leads the reader through the eleven topics listed in Titus 2:3-5 and provides an excellent resource for group discussion or mentoring relationships. It takes women into related Scripture passages to help them discover for themselves what God is saying about their calling as women. The study will challenge those who use it to become more involved in other women’s lives and be equipped by the powerful Word of God to be more effective in their ministry.
Barbara does not skirt the issues younger women are grappling with, but uses the truth of the Word of God to face them head on and gives answers that will meet the crying needs of a hurting generation. This is the study both older women and younger women have been waiting for.
Woman To Woman: Leader’s Guidebook (Following God Discipleship)

This is designed to assist women who mentor other women (either “one-on-one” or in small group Bible study sessions), using the workbook, Woman to Woman: Life Principles from Titus 2. For the small group leader it contains suggestions for preparation, what to expect, and a step by step discussion guide, including additional questions to help participants understand each Scripture passage. It also identifies the main point of each lesson and the main objective for each days reading and discussion. There is additional information in the “In Case They Ask” section at the end of each lesson that tackles some of the more difficult questions that may arise in the discussion. For mentors and counselors there is an index at the end of the guidebook that will help find specific topics in the workbook.
